西日本ローカル旅 第20話「大阪→京都」
~Western Japan local trip Ep.20 “Osaka to Kyoto”~

大阪での連泊を終え、旅は9日目でございます。
After the consecutive nights in Osaka, the trip is on the 9th day.

この日はお昼頃までなんば周辺を散策し、昼食を済ましてから京都へと移動する予定を立てておりました。
I was planning to take a walk in Namba until around noon on that day and move to Kyoto after lunch.

荷物のパッキングを済ませ、AM10時にホテルをチェックアウトしまして、それでは9日目スタートです。
After packing my luggage and checking out the hotel at 10am, it’s time to start the 9th day.

〜黒門市場〜
~Kuromon market~

まずはホテル近くの黒門市場に向かいます。
First, head to Kuromon Market near the hotel.

乾物やら惣菜から日用雑貨や洋服屋まであり、問屋街や上野のアメ横のような雰囲気が漂います。
There are dried foods, prepared foods, daily necessities, and clothes stores, etc., and the atmosphere is like the wholesale district or Ameya-yokocho in Ueno.

市場の中のマンホールが大阪城の模様だったのが印象的でした。
It was impressive that the manhole in the market was a picture of Osaka Castle.

朝飯を食べようと思い市場を散策していたところ、おおさかの味 吉村というお店を発見。
When I was strolling around the market to eat breakfast, I found a shop called Osaka’s taste “Yoshimura”.

昨日はたこ焼きを食べたので、この日はイカ焼きを注文。
I ate takoyaki (tako is octopus) yesterday, so I ordered ikayaki (ika is squid) this day.

お母さんが慣れた手つきで年季の入ったイカ焼き機を扱います。
Madame was operating the Ika-yaki machine with a practiced hand.

こちらが吉村のイカ焼きです。ほっこりとした温かみの感じられる料理でした。
This is Yoshimura’s Ika-yaki. It was a dish with a warm feeling.

〜なんばウォーク〜
~Nanba walk~

黒門市場の散策を終え、なんば駅周辺の地下街「なんばウォーク」を散歩。
After walking around Kuromon Market, take a walk in the underground shopping mall “Namba Walk”.

近鉄日本橋の方からJR難波駅方面へ歩いて行くとChicago Galleryなる絵画の展示スペースが現れました。
When I walked from Kintetsu Nihonbashi toward JR Namba Station, an exhibition space for paintings called Chicago Gallery appeared.

全て複製ではありますが、ゴッホやモネといった有名画家たちの作品が無料で見れて楽しく時間を過ごせました。
All of them are duplicates, but I enjoyed watching the works of famous painters such as Van Gogh and Monet for free.

そのまま地下街を抜けて、昨晩はお休みだったニューライトへ。
I passed through the underground mall and went to New Light, which was a holiday last night.

しかし結局この日もお休みのようでした。
However, this day was also a holiday.

それならばとホテル周辺へ引き返し、同じくカレーで有名な自由軒へ。
After that, I returned to the area around the hotel and went to Jiyuken, which is famous for curry.

~Jiyuken~

自由軒のカレーは凄くスパイシーで、生卵と和えることで柔らかみが増して美味しかったです。
Jiyuken’s curry was very spicy, and when mixed with raw eggs, it became softer and delicious.

店員さんがお水を何杯も勧めてくるのが嬉しくて、やっぱり大阪は人情豊かな街だなと感じました。
I was happy that the clerk recommended many glasses of water, and I felt that Osaka was a city with a lot of humanity.

そして食事を食べ終わり、いよいよ移動と相成ります。
After eating, it’s finally time to move.

たくさんの出会いがあった大阪でしたが、また必ず来ようと心に決め京都へと向かいます。
I had many encounters in Osaka. I will come again. And decided to leave for Kyoto.

大阪と京都との距離は近いので、この日も青春18切符は使わず。ちょっと豪華に京阪本線特急のプレミアムカーに乗車。
Since the distance between Osaka and Kyoto is short, I didn’t use the Seishun 18 Ticket on this day either. I got on the Keihan Main Line Limited Express Premium Car and felt a little extravagant.

次回は世界遺産の宇治 平等院鳳凰堂からスタートして京都の街を探索いたします。
Next time, I will explore the city of Kyoto starting from the World Heritage Uji Byodoin Phoenix Hall.
